Paul Armson
Paul has been an IFA since 1982 and is committed to Lifestyle Financial Planning. In 1996 he started promoting his ‘THREE HATS’ concept to clients (i.e. that of being a ‘Lifeplanner’, ‘Financial Planner’ and IFA.) and has never looked back.
He is a keen hill-walker, mountaineer and sailor. He has climbed in the Himalaya up to 22,500 feet in 1995 and 2000, and sailed over 20,000 miles in 2005/6 - in what he refers to as his ‘gap year’. He now spends his time mentoring other IFA’s and promoting Lifestyle Financial Planning.
David Brattesani
With 25 years experience in the financial services industry, David is one of the partners responsible for establishing threesixty in 2003. threesixty provide compliance, technical and strategic support to around 600 intermediary firms.
Formerly a compliance director within both the network and support provider sectors, David has also worked for the Personal Investment Authority in the areas of field monitoring and training & competence, with specific responsibilities for monitoring the activities of large IFA networks. Prior to joining PIA, David worked for a national intermediary, for several years.
Jasper Berens
Jasper Berens is a Managing Director and Head of UK Intermediary Sales at JPMorgan Asset Management. An employee since 1997, Jasper was previously Head of UK Asset Manager Sales.
Jasper started his career in fund sales at Guinness Flight and Hambros in 1993. Jasper obtained a B.A. in history from the University of Bristol.
Paul Harrison
Paul joined Prudential in 2004 to support the build and establishment of PruConsulting, as part of Prudential’s value added service proposition to the IFA sector. During 2007 his role changed to Head of Business Consultancy during a period of change within the consultancy team. His primary focus is to rebuild the team and re-establish PruConsulting as a major contributor to Prudential’s market leading added value service proposition.
Prior to moving to Prudential, Paul spent most of his career within the Financial Services industry, with companies including AXA and Zurich. He also spent some time as a Regional Manager for an American Consultancy firm.
Paul's background is predominantly in Sales & Management Development and Process Consultancy. He has spent the majority of the last 12 years working directly with distribution owners providing specialist support on all aspects of business development & change management.
Outside of work he lives with his wife and two young children in Wiltshire and when he has time, which is not as often as he would like, he can be found on the golf course!!
Peter Hugh-Smith
Peter Hugh-Smith has responsibility for Russell’s Private Client Services and distribution relationships within the UK and Ireland. He joined Russell in 1997 and was promoted to current role in 2006. Based in London, Peter provides strategic advice and support to Russell’s existing fund partners such as LloydsTSB Wealth Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. In addition Peter is in charge of developing Russell’s services and products for the UK IFA market.
Prior to Russell, Peter worked in Hong Kong with Seapower Asset Management, a large retail broker, responsible for managing the company’s investments in South Korea and researching Asian markets. Peter established the company’s first authorised mutual fund, the Seapower Asian Smaller Companies Fund, and developed a marketing strategy for institutional and retail product distribution in Hong Kong and Asia.
David Jones
David Jones is a Regional Director with Dimensional Fund Advisors Ltd based in London. His primary role is to educate UK advisers on modern portfolio theory, Dimensional's investment philosophy, and adviser best practices. Prior to joining Dimensional, David ran his own financial planning practice and has over twenty year’s experience in financial services.
Shane Mullins
Shane Mullins is founder and Managing Director of the multi-award winning wealth manager Fiscal Engineers based in Nottingham. As well as being responsible for corporate strategy and development at the firm, he oversees the management of a number of family estates and trusts, liaising closely with his technical and administration teams. With almost 20 years experience in private client wealth management, Shane has held a number of senior posts in financial services firms as well as being a regular commentator in the national and trade press.
Simon Olive
Simon was born in 1964, educated at Millfield School and gained his degree at Warwick University in Business and Finance. He has worked in the Financial Services Industry since Aug 85. He has sold as a Financial Advisor and managed sales teams in the tied and IFA sector. Since 1995 he has been a Management Consultant specialising in advising owners of Financial Advisory Firms on how to develop their businesses. He has a very pragmatic style based on his experience of what it is like at the coalface. His clients and audiences like his frank style, insightful perspective, creativity and ability to explain the complex simply. He is highly respected in the industry for his expertise around Fees and developing new Business Models, Propositions and Structures for the future. He has a strong reputation as a platform speaker, recently getting outstanding feedback from his talk at MDRT in Toronto. He has also written under the Industry Expert column of Money Marketing and received high praise for his 90 page report on how to develop a fee based proposition.
Bob Perry
For more than 20 years Bob has been training and coaching leaders and managers, improving their communication skills, giving them a more powerful personal impact and the ability to better establish and maintain rapport. His clients include, not only finance, but IT, engineering, utilities, charities, local authorities and health care. Bob has delivered his programmes and coaching sessions throughout the UK and internationally (including USA, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Bucharest, Paris, Bratislava, Malta, Tallinn, Athens, Moscow, Germany, Zurich and India). He always emphasizes the practical application of any technique and believes that if people are having an enjoyable experience, they will learn something of value. Mark Polson
Mark Polson is Head of Customer Management for Standard Life's affluent customers and also heads up communications for the Wrap and FundZone platforms. Mark joined Standard Life in 2007 after stints at Scottish Life where he was Head of Corporate Business, Virgin Money and Scottish Widows. Mark has a particular focus on the advisory market and considerable experience in working with advisers to transition their businesses towards sustainable models in both the retail and corporate markets.
