This advanced tax and estate planning workshop will provide delegates with a detailed insight into essential estate planning for complex clients across generations. A focus of the session will be case studies for a “wealth creator” or high earner, and for an inheritor. An intensive presentation will be followed by examples and discussions, with the overall theme of wealth protection considered across the following areas of practice:

By the end of the workshop, to be presented by leading private client lawyer Alison Broadberry, delegates will have the tools to provide a broader range of clients with assured and expert tax planning, and will take away with them specific strategies for use in the advisory business.

 

Alison Broadberry

Alison Broadberry is a Private Client Partner at Speechly Bircham LLP.

She has extensive experience in providing tax and trust advice to high net worth individuals, wealth management organisations and their advisers. She practices in both onshore and international tax planning and trusts with particular experience in how this interrelates with financial planning and financial services.

Alison joined Speechly Bircham in 2005 having previously been a Divisional Director and Head of Tax and Trusts at St. James’s Place Wealth Management. Prior to that Alison was an Associate Director at Schroder & Co and a Financial Planning Manager at Sun Life Technical Services. She originally qualified as a barrister and she has been the co-editor of Houseman 'The Law of Life Assurance', and a member of the ABI Product Tax Panel Committee.
